Approve the contract award with Build Alaska General Contracting, LLC for the VHS Exterior Door Replacement in the amount of $279,720.00
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Project Description: Project includes the removal and replacement of select exterior hollow metal doors, frames, and glazing in existing openings at Valdez High School, as well as the removal and replacement of hazardous materials as required to support the work.
Construction Schedule: Due to lead time concerns, the project substantial completion date will be extended to September 29, 2023. Since this will be going into the school year, contractor must coordinate with the City of Valdez or the Valdez School District so that only one doorway at a time is taken down after school has begun August 21, 2023.
Bidding: Quotes were received by Build Alaska General, Wolverine Summit JV, and Orion Construction, INC.
Engineers Estimate: $200,000.00
