RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Resolution on Valdez Branding Initiative.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
After a work session held on February 15, 2022, City Council asked for City staff to prepare an implementation plan for the Valdez Branding Initiative.
Spawn Ideas has presented multiple phases to Valdez Brand Implementation.
Brand rollout to Valdez
3 Brand Lunch and Learns for Valdez businesses, organizations, city departments, etc., that inform and engage. Brand presentation, style guide walk-thru, examples of brand in use for businesses, branded advertising templates for community use (print, digital. Canva tutorial for developed branding assets)
Launch
1. Update Valdez assets: Start with Ports and Harbor and Economic Development Department Websites, Facebook page, etc, working with Communications Director, IT, and other individual departments as appropriate.
2. Create and deliver Valdez brand toolkits/goodie bags to Valdez businesses.
3. Design services offered up to 20 Valdez businesses and other organizations. Spawn will assist businesses/organizations with graphic design recommendations for rack cards, website home pages, Facebook page mastheads-featuring new brand.
4. Under July 4 festivities to showcase new Valdez brand out in force, wearables, posters, stickers, parade banner, etc.
