RECOMMENDATION:
Accept resignation of Tom McAlister from the VMHA Board of Directors
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
VMHA Board Member Tom McAlister submitted his resignation from the VMHA Board, citing health concerns. His resignation letter is attached for formal Council acceptance.
Mr. McAlister’s current term would have normally expired in January 2022. The City Clerk’s Office will advertise to the fill the vacancy in January 2022 to streamline the process (as opposed to filling the partial vacancy seat for one month and then requiring the appointee to reapply for a subsequent full three-term). The VMHA expressed no concerns with this approach, as it will not impact their ability to have a quorum present for board meetings between now and January 2022.
