Sponsors recommend approval of extension of Valdez Local Public Health Emergency Mandate 004 (Community Mask Mandate)
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On September 30, 2021, City Council approved Valdez Local Public Health Emergency Mandate 004 (community mask mandate), which states the mandate shall remain in effect until November 3, 2021, unless otherwise extended or rescinded by City Council.
At the request of Council Members Love and Devens, the attached extension of Valdez Local Public Health Emergency Mandate 004 is presented for Council consideration.
The extension states the mandate shall remain in effect until December 22, 2021, unless otherwise extended or rescinded by City Council. This date coincides with the Council established benchmark for reviewing the necessity for continuance of the COVID-19 Valdez Local Disaster Declaration.
