SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Mike Wells spoke with the City Manager and has had contact with the Core of Engineers about the possibility of the City partnering with VFDA on a project. The project relates to studying conditions for Salmon run on Robe Lake. The possibility exists that there is a need for adding water to the Lake to enhance the long-term improvement of salmon habitat in Robe Lake. I believe this project has both Economic and Planning and Zoning implications.

The City Manager would like the Planning & Zoning Commission, as well as, the Economic Diversification commission to weigh in on this project and, if the commissions are on board, back a Resolution of Support that will be brought forward and presented to City Council on August 3rd. At this time, the City is unaware about the a potential expenditure request for the project because the City believes Mr. Wells thinks if he can get the Tatitlek Corporation (or possibly Chugach Corporation) to partner on the project much of the local match will be waived.
