RECOMMENDATION:
Discuss and give feedback to PRCS staff
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On June 8, 2021 Recreation Commission gave a recommendation to PRCS Director Nicholas Farline to create a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Valdez and the Friends of Valdez Ice Rink.
The purpose of the MOU is to engage a community group to enhance the user experience of the outdoor ice rink.
On 3/16/2021 via Resolution 21-12 City Council approved the following:
Attached to this agenda statement is an MOU that has been approved by City of Valdez legal team, PRCS Director, Ports & Harbor Director and the Friends of Valdez Ice Rink.
Mr. Matt Smelcer representing the Friends of Valdez Ice Rink will speak to the next their intentions and next steps moving forward.
All expenditure of funds will be brought back to Recreation Commission for their recommendation to PRCS staff for purchase.
