SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Draft Comprehensive Plan Public Comment Period
On April 29th, the Comprehensive Plan Revision Team released the draft plan. The draft is available to view and download on the project website (https://valdezcompplan.blogspot.com/). Hard copies can also be picked up at the Planning Department Window in City Hall.
The public is encouraged to review the draft plan and provide comments during the three week public comment period, which runs through May 20, 2021. Comments can be submitted online via a comment portal on the project website or in writing at the Planning Department.
It was important to the planning team to have alignment with other past planning efforts and ongoing projects by other departments. Commissioners will notice that the draft comprehensive plan references and supports both the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, as well as the forthcoming Meals Hill Master Plan. Additionally, there has been intentional overlap between members of the teams working on recent plans to help bring alignment to the efforts.
