SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Port of Valdez President John Clark would like to present to the Recreation Commission his RFP proposal (Attachment #1) of an art design competition for a memorial of George Hazelt and Andrew Jackson Meals to be placed on Meals Hill.
The Recreation Commission needs to vote and give recommendation to PRCS Director identifying a location for Mr. Clark to issue a specific location of the memorial for the art design competition.
Please consider that any final design and ultimate placement of the art memorial will be approved by City of Valdez Council.
Once a recommendation is made to PRCS Director said recommendation will be sent to Assistant City Manager and City Manager for final approval. If they deem it appropriate the recommendation may be sent to City Council for final approval.
