SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The following details my activities for the past two weeks:
•Worked on issues related to the DNR Temporary Land Use Permit for Alaska Backcountry.
•Attended an AMMA City Manager’s meeting.
•Conducted interview with candidate for executive assistant position with Assistant City Manager and City Clerk. Finance Director, Police Chief, and Assistant City Manager/Capital Facilities Director also interviewed candidate.
•Attended two Mayor’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Task Force meetings to discuss impacts to Tourism and Seafood Industry.
•Attended Mayor’s Healthcare Expansion Task Force Meeting.
•Spent time with Ports and Harbor personnel.
The next two weeks the primary focus is on continuing projects related to Mayor’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Task Force and starting the departmental budget process.
The Comprehensive Plan continues under development. The CPAC group guiding the Comprehensive Plan met Monday, August 17, 2020 to review the initial round of survey results from the first public meeting held on Zoom.
Updates on the progress of the Comprehensive Plan can be reviewed at <http://valdezcompplan.blogspot.com>. The site has received several views, however, staff plans to make the site more prominent on the City web site on a regular basis.
