RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Professional Services Agreement to R&M Consultants, Inc. for Special Inspections - Valdez Fire Station 1 Replacement in the amount of $136,444.00
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On March 3, 2020 the City of Valdez solicited proposals with basic cost information from qualified firms to provide Special Inspection Services during construction of the new Valdez Fire Station 1 Replacement project. The intent of the solicitation focused primarily on special inspections required for the new Fire Station but also intended to utilize the same firm on other 2020 City projects as needed.
The city received three responses from the solicitation. After reviewing and scoring all three proposals R&M Consultants scored the highest. After the initial scoring of the proposals it was decided to be in the best interest of the city to interview all three firms.
After interviewing all three firms, R&M Consultants again ranked the highest demonstrating that they were the most qualified, had the adequate resources needed to perform the work, and availability required to meet the needs of this project.
The total value of this contract is within the budgeted amount for Special Inspections for the Valdez Fire Station 1 Replacement project.
