Approve Ordinance #20-01 at second reading/adoption.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Amendments to Chapter 8.08 of the Valdez Municipal Code are necessary to facilitate the issuance and use of bear proof garbage containers. At the work session on April 16, 2019, the city council expressed their support for implementation and enforcement of bear proof solid waste management.
The Public Works Department and Chief Hinkle will be present to answer any questions regarding the issuance and use of the IGBC (International Grizzly Bear Committee) approved containers.
