SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Following a work session with the City Lobbyist on January 7^th the City Council directed administration to bring forward a draft of 2020 legislative priorities for discussion prior to formal approval on February 4^th. Administration contacted Valdez City Schools, CVEA and Valdez Fisheries Development Association and have included their comments in the draft document. Copper Valley Electric Association may ask for council support pending introduction of a bill related to fires later in session. At this time, I have included language urging general support for energy projects and programs.

I have also attached the Alaska Municipal League 2020 Legislative Priorities and have incorporated several into the draft city priorities for council consideration shown in blue font. The purpose of discussion this evening is to provide administration with direction to add or delete priorities. Based on Council direction, the City Clerk will prepare a final document for approval on February 4^th.
