RECOMMENDATION:
The PRCS Director and the Parks & Recreation Mission and Vision Task Force Recommend to Adopt a Revised Mission Statement and New Vision Statement for the Department.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The PRCS Director recommend to the Parks & Recreation Commission that a Mission & Vision Task force be assembled to update the Parks and Recreation Mission & Vision Statement. The Recreation Commission agreed and gave direction to the PRCS Director to move forward with said task force.
A Mission & Vision Task Force was assembled made up of:
• Three Parks & Recreation Commission members
• Three staff members
• One youth member
• One community member.
The first meeting of the task force was August 13th 2019. The goal and deliverable of this task force was to come up with a mission and vision statement for Parks & Recreation. The existing department mission statement was reworked to better fit Parks & Recreation as it is today. The Task Force met multiple times over the summer diligently researching and creating a mission and vision statement that best represents Parks & Recreation goals and objectives.
