SUMMARY STATEMENT:

This workshop is a dedicated meeting to consider Community Service Organization (CSO) funding requests for 2020. Applicants are permitted five minutes for optional presentations, plus additional time for Council inquiry.

CSOs are reflected in a General Fund department of the same name.  Total requests have averaged $2.66MM over the past three years, which is 6% of the total General Fund budget.

The Comptroller performs a detailed review of applications and provides a summary with notes.  The summary identifies material changes, anomalies, historic perspective, and other points of interest regarding applicant operations and finances.

The packet also contains full application materials for each applicant for Council review.

Staff is seeking Council consensus for funding requests upon the conclusion of this workshop.  These figures will then be reflected in the remaining workshops, and in the eventual adopted 2020 budget.
