RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Contract with Orion Construction, Inc. for the N. Meyring Park Shelter Project in the Amount of $363,800.00.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The intent of this project is to build a new pavilion in N. Meyring Park, with a base pad of asphalt and a fireplace with stone inlays as an add alternate. Construction of the new pavilion will be located in the same lot as the previous shelter at the end of Foraker Street. The original shelter was deemed unsafe due to structural failures and had to be demolished. The Contractor has the option to begin construction this fall but must be complete before June 15th, 2020 in advance of the Parks season. Long Lead materials will not likely arrive prior to winter shutdown.
Construction Schedule: September 2019 through June 15th, 2020
Liquidated Damages: $350/day
Bidding: Length of bid period was 32 days. 4 bids were received.
