SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Alaska Municipal League Joint Insurance Association visited Valdez and completed a Risk Management Report. In this report they discussed issues with the City of Valdez Parks and Recreation Shooting Range. Please see attached summary from their report.
Parks and Recreation staff are looking for Commission direction on how to proceed with mitigating the issues at the shooting range.
Parks and Recreation staff encourage the commission to discuss the possibility of selling the shooting range to a community group.
Director ordered signs and Parks Maintenance will install new signage pertaining to shooting range safety rules and regulations.
