RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Valdez Community Jail contract with the State of Alaska for the second year (July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020) of an initial five year term.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
In 2018, the Valdez City Council approved an initial five-year Professional Services Agreement between the Valdez Community Jail and the State of Alaska. The contract amount was detailed and structured in such a manner that additional funds could be earned depending on services provided. One of those services included post-conviction Electronic Monitoring, which the Valdez Police Department (via the Valdez Community Jail) now provides. This changed the total contract amount from $393,000 to $403,000 for FY20.
