RECOMMENDATION:

Approve Resolution 19-03, authorizing a snow storage agreement with State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities to include a portion of Block 6, Block 20, Mineral Creek Subdivision.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

This resolution amends an existing five-year snow storage agreement with the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT/PF) for a portion of two parcels adjacent to Hazelet Avenue.

The original snow storage agreement from 1992 established Tract B, Block 20, Mineral Creek Subdivision. This amendment will remove Tract B from the snow storage agreement and replace it with an approximately 140 x 91 foot portion of the adjacent Block 6, Block 20, Mineral Creek Subdivision.

This amendment is being pursed in anticipation of the removal of Tract B, Block 20, Mineral Creek Subdivision during a platting action necessary for the proposed new fire hall site that will go before the Planning & Zoning Commission later this month. The specific location and area proposed in this amendment was determined through discussions with Public Works, Capital Facilities and local representatives from the State of Alaska DOT/PF.
