RECOMMENDATION:
Review and provide consensus direction to Staff
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
• This budget request is embedded in the Economic Development Department. The remainder of that department budget will be discussed during the October 31 workshop.
• Laurine Regan, Events Coordinator, will present the requests to Council.
• The $378K dollar figure excludes two requests from Valdez Adventure Alliance (previously Levitation 49):
o Ice Climbing Festival, $9K
o Fat Bike Bash, $25K
• Staff materials include detailed metrics and budgets for each proposed 2019 event.
• Because it is a component of the proposed events schedule, the Events Coordinator will also discuss a proposed Major Equipment purchase of portable stage & lighting. The remainder of the Major Equipment review will take place on Thursday, October 25.
