RECOMMENDATION:

Approve Resolution #18-24 in support of the VFDA permit increase.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Alaska Board of Fisheries will convene a special meeting July 17th to hear a petition by the Kenai River Sportsman Association to deny the Valdez Fisheries Development Association’s permit increase of 20 million pink salmon eggs to be taken in 2018 at the Solomon Gulch Hatchery. The VFDA is requesting consideration of a resolution of support by the Valdez City Council to be submitted as public comment by July 9th
