RECOMMENDATION:
Approval to purchase a 2018 908M Loader from NC Machinery including accessories from various suppliers in the amount of amount of $134,817.30
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This piece of equipment will be used primarily in the New Harbor; however it can easily be shared between both harbors. The primary functions of this loader will be snow removal (which will include the new Floating Crane Dock), sweeping, as well as materials and freight handling that requires forks. This machine will be a valuable asset to the Harbor Maintenance Crew due to its versatility.
This 2018 908M Loader will be purchased using the NJPA Government Purchasing program, and is a 2018 budgeted item that can be found in the current Major Equipment budget. The new loader will be assigned a 10 year life expectancy.
The 908M Loader build includes a GP bucket, forks, a pick up broom, and a quick coupler receiver hitch which will be purchased from NC Machinery in the amount of $128,632.00. The radio will be purchased from Arcticom for $700.00. We will also be purchasing a 120” snow pusher from Haltness Equipment for $5485.30. These prices include freight to Valdez.
