RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Professional Service Agreement with Bettisworth North Architecture and Planning Inc. for the Herman Hutchens Elementary School Exterior Upgrades in the amount of $158,855.00
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Scope of Work for this project to include:
• Exterior Window Replacement
o PROBLEM: All exterior windows are at the end of their useful life, some have shown signs of leaking into classrooms.
o SOLUTION: Diagonal windows will be replaced with operable, vertical windows in the classrooms and vertical windows in the cafeteria. Existing vertical windows will be replaced as needed.
• Walkway Replacement
o PROBLEM: Concrete walkways around the school are spalling beyond repair. Walkway surface is uneven and has caused several patrons to trip and fall. There is currently no sidewalk that extends to Pioneer St. from the Southside School Exit location.
o SOLUTION: All broken walkways will be replaced and walkway on the Southside of the building will be extended to Pioneer St.
• Minor Siding Repair
o Repair siding around windows as needed for window replacement. Any additional material will be used to patch siding in other areas.
