RECOMMENDATION:

Schedule work session for further discussion by city council and staff.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The City has received a revised draft memorandum of understanding from Alaska Pacific Development Inc. and Irwin Development Group, LLC. regarding development of an affordable housing project in Valdez.

Following receipt of a prior proposal from Alaska Pacific Development, the city council gave direction to administration to issue a request for proposals (RFP) to determine if there was interest by any other entity to develop affordable housing in Valdez.  The Community Development Department has compiled information relevant to this request and would like to schedule a work session with the city council on July 20^th to discuss the topic of housing and land development. Discussion will include the current draft proposal from Alaska Pacific Development.
