Approve a Professional Services Agreement with McCool Carlson Green in the amount of $93,231 for ADA restroom renovations at the elementary and high school.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The School District has requested that older school facilities be improved in critical areas to comply with current ADA requirements. Staff has worked with the Superintendent and school staff to develop a program for ADA improvements to meet the needs of our physically-challenged students and general public. The first phase of capital improvements will include the renovation of two sets of restrooms in the elementary and high school to meet these requirements. Lisa Von Bargen and a recovering, disabled student enrolled at the high school will assist the design team in this endeavor. The design consultant, McCool Carlson Green, was selected for this project based on their recent work associated with the Civic Center restroom renovations (constructed in 2014) and the airport restroom upgrades (to be constructed in 2017). The Civic Center restroom renovations was mentioned by Ms. Von Bargen as an outstanding example of appropriate ADA design.
