RECOMMENDATION:
Approve extension of snow removal contract with Harris Sand & Gravel for Areas I, III, and VI for a term of two-years.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This was a two year contract with a onetime two year renewal option, which may be exercised by the City contingent on funding and approval by City Council.
The Public Works Department contacted this contractor with its intentions to exercise the two year renewal option which Harris Sand and Gravel accepted. This decision was based on receiving minimal complaints, and a quick response to complaints that did come in. During the past two snow seasons Harris Sand and Gravel demonstrated their ability to provide quality snow removal services in accordance with the terms of their contract.
Area I: Atigun, Salcha Way, Rudolf St., Hobart St., and access to South Central Well House, the Airport Parking Lot and Zurich Loop Road.
Area III: Corbin Creek Subdivision.
Area VI: Consist of the VCT Causeway and Dock.
All terms and conditions contained in the Snow Removal Service Contract dated the 23rd day of September, 2014 will apply to this extension and run from October 15th, 2016 to June 15th, 2018.
