RECOMMENDATION:
Administration recommends approval of this contract award.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City issued a request for qualifications on June 9, 2016 searching for firms with qualifications for a comprehensive community visioning-redevelopment program. The review panel recommended Kimley Horn & Associates. This recommendation was forwarded to the City Council on August 23rd for approval to begin scope negotiations. Administration informed the council that the first step in this process would be a site visit in early September. Council approved this request and directed administration to bring back a proposal and request for funding.
As provided in the contract, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. and Northstar Destination Strategies representatives will spend three days on site in Valdez to conduct one-on-one interviews with a group of pre-selected stakeholders prior to developing a full scope of services for the visioning process.
