SUMMARY STATEMENT:

This resolution seeks to waive disposal fees for clean metal dropped off at the Baler Facility between May 21, 2025, and December 31, 2026. The purpose of this temporary waiver is to encourage residents and businesses to participate in the recycling and scrap barge initiative by properly disposing of recyclable metal materials, which can otherwise accumulate or be discarded improperly.

By waiving fees for clean metal during this timeframe, the city aims to promote environmental stewardship, improve community cleanliness, and support long-term sustainability goals. The fiscal impact is expected to be minimal, as the value of encouraging proper recycling and community engagement outweighs the limited revenue loss.
