RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the contract with Wolverine Summit JV for the Library Restroom Renovations project in the amount of $607,000.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Library Restroom Renovations project was out to bid for 31 days and five (5) bids were received. Wolverine Summit JV of Valdez submitted the low bid of $607,000.
The project consists of hazardous materials abatement and renovating five existing restrooms in the Valdez library to bring them up to current ADA standards. The existing restrooms date back to original construction in 1979.The Library will remain open through the construction process and a majority of the work will be done outside of normal business hours. The completion date for the project is April 30, 2022.
This project is a Council approved project and was originally funded for design in 2021. The bidding timeline was accelerated to accommodate currently known supply chain issues as well as historically slower timeframes at the library.
Budget funding for this project will be obtained through the unused, excess funds from the following Major Maintenance accounts:
350-0310-55000.1807 - Elementary Generator Project - $210,000.00
350-0310-55000.1808 - High School Generator Project - $210,000.00
350-0310-55000.2011 - VCT Causeway Repair - $200,000.00
350-0310-55000-2110 - Monument Repairs - $11,290.42
