RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Contract with Build Alaska General Contractors, LLC for Civic Center Exterior Staining & Upgrades in the amount of $310,155.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Project Description: This project will re-stain the cedar siding of the Civic Center and School District Office. This project also includes improvement to two emergency exits and code compliant ADA door openers at the Civic Center
Construction Schedule: The Contractor has until September 1, 2020. The start date is weather dependent, but not expected before the first week of May.
Liquidated Damages: $200 per day.
Bidding: The contract was posted for bid on January 6, 2020. Four bids were received prior to the bid opening on February 7, 2020 and Build Alaska General Contractors was the low bid.
Engineer’s Estimate: Under $350,000
