RECOMMENDATION:
Administration recommends approval of MOU with USAG Alaska for operation and maintenance of Allison Point Campground.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
In July 2023, Mayor Scheidt and City Staff met with leadership from MWR and the new Commander of Fort Greely regarding the overall partnership with the City of Valdez on collaboration with City events and operation of both Alllison Point and Glacier Campgrounds. It was determined in this meeting that both parties were satisfied with the overall partnership and would work to renew the agreements.
Fort Greely MWR has remained in good standing with the city as operator of the Allison Point campground. Administration recommends approval of the attached MOA with USAG Alaska for a 5-year term.
