RECOMMENDATION:

Approve Resolution 26-51 accepting grant funds in the amount of $5,000,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for reimbursement of expenditures related to the sewer force main replacement project

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

These funds result from the community discretionary grant awarded to the City by Alaska’s congressional delegation. The funds were requested in the FY 23 budget.

Staff worked with the Agency to ensure compliance with the grant requirements and award conditions and the City will now receive actual funds.

The grant money will be used as a reimbursement for authorized expenditures on both the sewer force main and well house #5 projects related to materials procurement and engineering.
