SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Gold Rush Days, Inc. received temporary land use permit 26-05 for 180 Galena Drive (Lots 11 & 12, Block 35, Mineral Creek Subdivision), 161 Galena Drive (Lot 31, Block 33, Mineral Creek Subdivision), 310 Galena Drive (Lot 16, Block 35, Mineral Creek Subdivision), 250 Galena Drive (Lot 15, Block 35, Mineral Creek Subdivision), owned by the City of Valdez, July 27th - August 4th, 2026 for the entertainment stage, beer garden, games and entertainment space for the Gold Rush Days event. (See attached permit and designated areas shown in Exhibit A). 

 

The Chief of Police and Public Works Director were solicited for comments on the application and had no concerns. 

 

Pursuant to Valdez Municipal Code 17.12.120 (G) Approval Criteria, staff review of the proposed temporary use request found that all 10 approval criteria were satisfied.

Per resolution #23-43, this permit was exempted from permit fees as a community celebration for less than 10 days in duration.
