SUMMARY STATEMENT:

As per City of Valdez Code 11.05.090, “all fees, charges, or rentals space, storage or services in the Port facilities are established by City Council through resolution.

“All fees, charges or rentals of space, storage or services in the Port facilities will be reviewed by the Ports & Harbors Commission.”

The Ports & Harbors Commission reviewed tariff 21-100 with staff during a work session on October the 4th, 2021.  General consensus from the commission was given to staff to make the following changes outlined in the attached document name “Tariff 100-22 Redline.”

On November 11th the Port and Harbor Commission met and approved a formal recommendation to the Valdez City Council to approve the attached Resolution 21-52 and repeal resolutions 20-76 and 15-34.

The Ports & Harbor Commission requested a rate comparison of other local competing Ports to support the specific rate increases. This rate comparison is also attached for review.

Rates and Fees for Port Permits formerly found in Resolution 15-34 will now be found and adopted into Tariff 100-22.
