SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Mayor and City Council requested a work session to discuss issues around the ongoing child care crisis and community concerns.
The following is the schedule of discussion for the work session:
1) Update from Chugachmiut Head Start on operational challenges and future expansion plans.
2) Feedback from Coast Guard representatives on impact of child care shortage to Coast Guard families.
3) Overview of potential workforce development and apprenticeship program with PWSC.
4) Review of Child Care Crisis Task Force Recommendations adopted by City Council in January 2024.
