RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the sale of the surplus 2013 Vactor Plus 2100 Vac Truck (on an International Chassis), model 7500 SBA 6x4, on GovDeals.net, with a reserve price of $125,000 as recommended.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Fleet Manager has recommended that the 2013 Vactor Plus 2100 Vac Truck should be disposed of as a surplus vehicle, replaced by the recent purchase of a 2026 model. City operations do not necessitate two Vac trucks. The fair market value has been determined to be between $120,000 - $140,000.
In accordance with VMC 4.06.020 - Approval of Sale and Disposal of Surplus City Property, items with a fair market value over $10,000 require city council approval prior to disposal. The City Manager recommends setting an initial bid (reserve price) at $125,000 to encourage competitive bidding.
The sale will be conducted via public auction on GovDeals.net, an online government surplus auction platform that supports open and competitive bidding.
This vehicle has been replaced by a new 2026 Vac Truck.
