SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Based on feedback from the August 4, 2026, work session to review tax exemption options opened through the passage HB 13, staff has put together a rough draft of possible code revision (attached).
The attached draft code revisions is a preliminary look at how code might be updated to make certain tax exemptions broader (primary residence/ permanent place of abode broader and economic development). A summary of section-by-section changes is also attached to help walk through the proposed update.
This is only a draft document and still needs to undergo more careful review by impacted finance department staff and the city attorney. The goal of this work session is to receive feedback from Council on whether changes proposed are what the body desires to see implemented.
