RECOMMENDATION:
Administration recommends approval of the Glacier Campground MOU
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
In July 2023, Mayor Scheidt and City Staff met with leadership from MWR and the new Commander of Fort Greely regarding the overall partnership with the City of Valdez on collaboration with City events and operation of both Alllison Point and Glacier Campgrounds. It was determined in this meeting that both parties were satisfied with the overall partnership and would work to renew the agreements.
Fort Greely MWR has remained in good standing with the city as operator of the campground over the past 15 years. The Administration recommends approval of this MOU for a period of five years. The MOU shall be for a period beginning January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2028.
