RECOMMENDATION:
The Ports and Harbor Commission recommend proposed amendments to existing fee structure.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Ports and Harbor Commission has reviewed and approved the attached resolution with proposed changes to Resolution No. 23-18. The Commission and staff are now submitting to City Council for approval their final recommendations naming such fees. The changes are as follow:
• Removal of quarterly water/sewer fees
• Removal of incremental fee based on vessel length
• Creation of yearly flat rate, regardless of vessel length
The Commission approved rate increase puts Valdez in line with what other harbors in Alaska currently charge live-aboards.
