RECOMMENDATION:
Pause the $0.30 storage fee for units used to move fish product. This would currently affect roughly 123 units @ $96/unit/month.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
AML/WBD has asked for the Port of Valdez to temporarily suspend/pause our storage rate of $0.30/sq ft for refrigerated 40’ units for the months of November - May. WBD would typically ship these units out to one of their facilities and then ship them back to POV once the fishing season kicks off. By temporarily pausing the storage fee the POV would have an advantage of attracting other Alaska fisheries catch for processing in Valdez.
