SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The current City of Valdez Hazard Mitigation Plan was adopted in 2019 and expired in March 2024. The Hazard Mitigation Plan Planning Committee met from February through July and provided input to staff in updating the plan. These meetings were open to the public. The Community Development Department received 76 responses to a survey concerning area natural hazards.
An open house concerning the updated plan was held on August 14th prior to the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.
This public hearing will provide the public with an additional opportunity to comment on the Hazard Mitigation Plan prior to its adoption.
