SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Curt Wilson representing Alaska Marine Lines would like to propose a potential public private partnership to upgrade, repair, and make safe the barge landing at the VCT.
Alaska Marine Lines Company leadership including owner Jim Jansen visited the barge landing site on Tuesday June 12th and met with City representatives including Mayor Dennis Flemming to propose a solution to repairing and upgrading the aging infrastructure.
There are several details that city staff and legal teams will need to work through to explore this potential partnership. This work session will be used to discuss the project and identify any commission concerns prior to coming back to the commission during a regular meeting to adopt a formal recommendation to the Valdez City Council.
