RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the contract with Day Engineering for the New Municipal Well House Design in the amount of $480,000.00.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The New Municipal Wellhouse Design Request for Qualifications was out for responses for 29 days. Four design firms responded and after review and scoring Day Engineering was selected to provide a cost proposal.
Day Engineering will provide the following services:
1. New Well #5 piping (located next to HHES school)
2. Sealing exterior or abandonment of test well nearby.
3. New building for Well #5.
4. Connect well and drain piping to existing piping in the area.
5. All other related professional services required for this project will also be included.
Additional work will include final permitting and water rights, agency reviews and approvals, bid ready construction plans and specifications, bid assistance, pre-bid meetings, pre-construction meeting, submittal review, construction scheduling, project inspection, construction meetings, special inspections, public notifications and meetings, process Contractor pay estimates, project close-out, record drawings, and O&M manuals.
The project schedule is May 2024 through October 2024 - Design, submit permits for well and building. November 2024 through January 2025 - Final design, ADEC approvals, prepare bid for advertising. Construction will take place in 2025.
