SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Valdez Economic Diversification Commission has been working on the development of a Valdez Economic Strategic Action Plan. Through that process, 40 draft initiatives have been developed.
The next step was the prioritization of the draft initiatives, identification of project champions (person and/or department responsible) for initiatives, and development of action plans and measurable goals for the highest priority objectives.
These surveys went out to the Planning, Port & Harbors, Park & Recreation, Museum, VCVB, Hospital and SWAN Commissions, as well as City Council. I am attaching the most recent draft and the prioritization results for your review.
Next steps:
• EDC to meet and go over the survey results, finalize the draft initiatives.
• EDC and City Council hold a joint work session to discuss initiatives.
• EDC submits a formal recommendation to City Council on the finalized plan.
