SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Public Works Department purchased a 2025 Ford Explorer Patrol Vehicle for the Valdez Police Department at a total cost of $87,659.74. The vehicle was acquired in accordance with City procurement requirements and within the approved budget amount.
This unit replaces a 2003 MURV Van that had reached the end of its useful service life. The replaced equipment was declared surplus and auctioned in accordance with Valdez Municipal Code 4.06.020 governing the disposal of surplus property. Proceeds from the sale will be utilized in alignment with the City’s budget and financial policies to support future operational needs.
The new patrol vehicle will support daily law enforcement operations, emergency response, and community safety efforts. This purchase ensures fleet reliability, operational readiness, and continuity of public safety services.
