SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Public Works Department purchased a 2025 Kubota L3560HSTC-LE Tractor from Equipment Source, Inc. at a total cost of $65,299.09 and assigned the equipment to the Parks and Recreation Department and Building Maintenance for operational use. The purchase was made utilizing an existing Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract, ensuring compliance with procurement requirements and competitive pricing. This purchase slightly exceeded the appropriated amount of $65,000 by $299.09.
The new tractor replaces a 2009 John Deere Tractor that had reached the end of its useful service life. The replaced equipment was declared surplus and auctioned in accordance with Valdez Municipal City Code 4.06.020 governing the disposal of surplus property. Proceeds from the sale will be utilized in alignment with the City’s budget and financial policies to support future operational needs.
